Holy Week - A Sacred Journey with Jesus
Tonight we are entering the triduum, the three great days from Maundy Thursday through sundown on Easter Day. Everyone is welcome and all are invited to fully participate in these services that bring us to the fullness of Easter morning!
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ( BCP).
MAUNDY THURSDAY 4/14 - 6:00PM CHURCH - The word Maundy comes from the Latin Mandatum Novum, "New Commandment, from the Gospel of John 13:34-35. "Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you should love one another".
GOOD FRIDAY 4/15- SERVICE AT NOON AND 6:00PM CHURCH. On this day we commemorate and reflect on Jesus' Crucifixion, Last Words and the implication of the Cross for our lives and the world.
HOLY SATURDAY- 4/16 - PERSONAL QUIET TIME AT THE KATE SCHIAPPA ALTAR - Holy Saturday sits between the agony of of Good Friday and the Joy of Easter. It is a time of uncertainty and waiting. Take time to pray the said service found on page 283 in the Book of Common Prayer and join with the disciples in their grief and hope.
