We Will! Supporting our Confirmands this Sunday, May 8th at 10:30 | St. Mary's Episcopal Church

If you have not been to a confirmation service or are new to St. Mary's please plan to come and meet Bishop Howard at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday and join us as we celebrate our brother and sisters in Christ who are confirming their commitment to God and God's church.

My favorite part of the confirmation service is when the Bishop turns to the congregation and asks "Will you who witness these vows do all in your power to support these persons in their life in Christ?" And the congregation shouts out "we will"!

So let's all plan to be there to shout "we will" for Tre Easterly, Evie Ezzell, Jeaninne Peckham, Marilyn Smith, Joyce Burlingame, Allison Johnston, and Brenda North. We also welcome Carrie Anne Kissinger from Grace Episcopal who will be Received by Bishop Howard.

There will be plenty of room inside and out as we gather to celebrate this special day for our church.

After the 10:30 service we will celebrate our confirmands and Bishop Howard's last scheduled official visit with light refreshments and fellowship.

When you come into the church, you’ll encounter steps or a ramp that will take you to the Red doors and the front porch of the church. There might be ushers, greeters and worship leaders there to welcome you and offer you a bulletin. The bulletin will help you know what’s happening in the service. As you enter the church you find yourself in our NARTHEX (that’s Episco-speak for entryway) and that is where we keep our sign-up sheets, newcomer information and where the coloring sheets for the children are located. We look forward to greeting you!

We often get asked how I do I “join” St. Mary’s? The short answer is: come to St. Mary’s! We welcome anyone and everyone to join us for worship on Sunday mornings or at any of our church activities. We believe that first and foremost, membership in the Church means being part of a community that is drawn ever more deeply into relationship with God and our neighbor through Jesus Christ.”
