Children & Youth

Children and young people are welcome at all services and to take part in all events at St. Mary's! From Children's sermons, acolyting, reading scripture in church, fellowship events, to outreach service projects for the community, St. Mary's Children's ministry leaders are excited to serve and partner with parents to foster, strengthen, and grow the faith children have in God and Christ Jesus!
Sometimes worship in our church feels formal, so when children get restless parents get nervous. Please relax and know we support and love your children. God puts the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. All are welcome! Sit toward the front where it is easier for your little ones to see and hear what’s going on at the altar: they tire of seeing the backs of other’s heads. Quietly explain the parts of the service and actions of the priest, altar servers, choir, etc. Sing the hymns, say the prayers and voice the responses. Children learn liturgical behaviors by copying you. If you must leave the service with your child, feel free to do so, but please come back. As Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.” Remember that the way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to the Church, to God and to one another. Let them know that they are at home in this house of worship.
SPEAK LIFE! Kids Camp

Children are not merely the church of tomorrow. If a child is in Christ, they are church of today!
Thank you to all who helped make SPEAK LIFE! Kids Camp a success! We had the best 3 days with 13 campers and mentors. What a joy it was to hear the joyful voices echoing through the parish hall!
