Life Together

Music

Music is a vital part of St. Mary’s parish life. Our Choir leads hymns, psalms, and service music to enhance Eucharistic liturgies, Holy Week services, and our annual Festival of Advent Lessons & Carols. Our Music @ St Mary’s is an ongoing concert series planned and produced by music director Lucinda Mosher.

Outreach

We love because God first loved us, so we share that love with each other. We care for members of our worshipping community and broader community in many ways.

St. Mary's offers the loose plate on the first Sunday of each month to a community, national or world organization that is in need of our support and prayers.

We work to feed people, help the homeless and support the child…

Pastoral Care

Life is never without challenges, but they are easier to bear with the support of a community. Our clergy welcome your questions and concerns and are always willing to spending time with you in times of challenge and crisis. Please contact the Rev. Amy Slater if you or a loved one is in the hospital. We also have Eucharistic visitors who bring communion to those who are unable to attend the Sunday worship service. Flowers and prayer shawls and the love of the congregation are also sent to those in need of care.

Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King is an order of women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it, or churches who are in the Historic Episcopate.

The Order’s purpose is to bring others into a living, loving relationship with Jesus, our Lord and Savior, and to help strengthen the spiritual lives of our parishes and missions.

Episcopal Church Women

The Episcopal Church Women are about outreach, Mission and Ministry. The Episcopal Church Women empowers women to do Christ's ministry in the world. By default, every woman in the church is a member of the ECW. Shirley DuVal is president of St. Mary's ECW, and Andi Geiger is a past president of the Diocesan ECW. The ECW's largest fundraiser is their bi-yearly Rummage Sale.

Welcome First Visit Children Joining St. Mary's

Welcome and thank you for visiting our St Mary’s website! We hope you will find helpful information here about our parish. We invite everyone to “Come to the River” because we believe what you will find here is a genuine welcome, a real community of people from all walks of life who come together for worship designed to empower and nurture disciples to serve the world in Jesus’ name. St. Mary’s natural setting is infused with the beauty of God’s creation, peace and renewal. So, look around our web site. Then come and join our journey of faith and see God at work in our midst on the banks of the St. John’s River in Green Cove Springs Florida.

When you come into the church, you’ll encounter steps or a ramp that will take you to the Red doors and the front porch of the church. There might be ushers, greeters and worship leaders there to welcome you and offer you a bulletin. The bulletin will help you know what’s happening in the service. As you enter the church you find yourself in our NARTHEX (that’s Episco-speak for entryway) and that is where we keep our sign-up sheets, newcomer information and where the coloring sheets for the children are located. We look forward to greeting you!

Worship Services

We often get asked how I do I “join” St. Mary’s? The short answer is: come to St. Mary’s! We welcome anyone and everyone to join us for worship on Sunday mornings or at any of our church activities. We believe that first and foremost, membership in the Church means being part of a community that is drawn ever more deeply into relationship with God and our neighbor through Jesus Christ.”
