Pastoral Care

Life is never without challenges, but they are easier to bear with the support of a community. Our clergy welcome your questions and concerns and are always willing to spending time with you in times of challenge and crisis.
Please contact Mother Sarah if you or a loved one is in the hospital. We also have Eucharistic visitors who bring communion to those who are unable to attend the Sunday worship service. Flowers and prayer shawls and the love of the congregation are also sent to those in need of care.
For more information, contact The Rev. Sarah Minton. [email protected] or call the church office (904) 284-5434.
Healing Prayer Ministry
Trained healing prayer ministers offer healing prayer for anyone interested in physical, emotional or spiritual healing. Healing prayer is offered as needed, but also on a regular basis on the 4th Sunday of each month after both services. Beginning this month Feb. 2020, Healing Prayer will be held in the Nursery room of the Parish hall on the 4th Sunday.
Bereavement Committee
The Bereavement committee serves to care for our church families who desire to have a reception in the parish hall after a funeral or memorial service. They call upon members to help in the preparation, serving, and clean-up.
Eucharistic Visitors
Licensed lay ministers take communion to homebound or hospitalized members, also offering support and encouragement. These visits allow those members to be in communion with their Parish family.
Prayer Shawl
The Prayer Shawl ministry knits prayer shawls that are blessed by the priest. Shawls are given to people in the hospital, nursing homes or other needs that show our parish families warmth. If you need a prayer shawl, contact the church office. Shawls are also available in the back of the church for Sundays when you need extra warmth or just need to feel the love of your Parish family. These shawls may also be taken home, but please let the office know if you do so.
Card Ministry
The Card Ministry led by Pat Watson and others, send cards of celebration and on other occasions. Pat prays over the cards before they are sent and says she loves being able to be a part of the church in this way.
Home Meals
Home meals are provided by our ministries and neighborhood groups for those who are ill or at other times of need. Contact the office, if you need meals or know of a parishioner who does. These Ministry groups are open to all members of St Mary’s. If you feel called to serve on one or just want more information, please contact the church office.
