Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is a vibrant organization within the Episcopal Church in the United States, dedicated to empowering women to serve, advocate, and grow in their faith. If you are a woman and an Episcopalian, you are already a ECW!

The ECW brings together women from diverse backgrounds and experiences, uniting them in a common mission to support the work of the church and its ministries. Through their local chapters, diocesan organizations, and national network, ECW provides opportunities for women to deepen their spiritual lives, engage in outreach and service projects, and build community with one another. They are committed to nurturing leadership among women, offering training, mentorship, and resources to help them fulfill their potential in both church and society. ECW advocates for gender equity and justice within the Episcopal Church, working to ensure that women's voices are heard and valued at all levels of decision-making.

One of the hallmarks of ECW is its focus on mission and outreach. Through partnerships with local congregations, dioceses, and international organizations, ECW members engage in a wide range of service projects, from feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless to advocating for social justice and supporting women's empowerment initiatives around the world.

The national website (www.ecwnational.org) serves as a valuable resource for members, providing access to educational materials, program ideas, and information about upcoming events and initiatives. It also features stories and testimonials from women who have been impacted by ECW's work, highlighting the transformative power of community and service in the lives of women. In Province IV, which encompasses our diocese, the ECW group has members diocesan-wide that support Camp Weed and other ministries. You can visit their website at Diocese of Florida ECW.

St. Mary's has a thriving group that embodies the overall mission and values of showcasing commitment to faith, fellowship, and service while working to build a more just and compassionate world. Our Spring and Fall Rummage Sales help support our church, diocese, and several outreach needs in the Clay County area such as Head Start, Way Free Clinic, the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs, and more.

If would like to participate, join us at our next ECW Meeting held at St. Mary's or speak with our president, Molly Wagner, for more details.
